[This post is written by Dad to provide a quick update]
Hermana Anna Berbert arrived safely in Chile on Tuesday, April 9th, and the next evening we received an email and photo from President Humphrey :
Here is a short excerpt from the President’s email:Sister Humphrey and I had the great pleasure of welcoming your daughter, Hermana Berbert, to the Chile Concepción Mission. After we met her at the airport when she arrived on Tuesday, we enjoyed lunch together with the other missionaries. We held an orientation and testimony meeting and Hermana Berbert met her first companion, Hermana Lovell, who will train her to be a missionary. They will be laboring in the sector of Constitución C and located in the zone of Talca Centro.
[update: The map shows that she is in Talca, and it’s true that she is in the Talca Centro Zone, but she is actually located in the city of Constitución, which is a beautiful city on the coast directly west of Talca]
We are excited that our daughter will be companions with Hermana Lovell (http://hermanaashleylovell.blogspot.com). Sister Lovell comes from a very missionary-oriented family, and right now her parents are serving a mission in the Argentina Neuquen mission (her father is the Mission President), and one of her sisters is serving in the Spain Malaga mission.
[update: The Lovell family has a third daughter\sister currently serving in the Italy, Rome mission — 2 parents and 3 daughters all serving missions at the same time; amazing!]
Sister Lovell and Sister Berbert will be a dynamite duo, and we look forward to hearing about their missionary experiences. Please pray for them and for their investigators, and maybe even drop them a quick message of encouragement and support. Thanks to new rules, missionaries are allowed to receive direct emails from anyone (not just parents), and you can email Sister Berbert at firstname.lastname@example.org. I know that she would love to hear from you, even if she only has a minute or two for a very brief response on her preparation days (Mondays).
